Alexander Skancke is one of a new breed of Norwegian producers making waves across Europe with a deeper take on tech-house and electronic music. On the surface this release for Quirk - following appearances on Jay Haze's Contexterrior and Neostrictly - is a five tracker, but on closer inspection it features one experimental spoken word piece ('Make Do Battlecry') and four more traditional workouts absolutely crying out to be played out. Opener 'Alright Alright' is big and thunderous but minimal and cagey, but as the EP opens up the tracks develop more personality, with 'This Is Not Organ House' with its bumping bassline and rave whistles closing proceedings with aplomb.
